Bonfire Meet - Please bring one large firework and donations for the supper in the barn after the bonfire.
Not the best of weather for this weekend but it stayed fine when it mattered. I had to attend a funeral on Friday so all the sighting was done by Sam on one of his few appearances this season. Thanks go to him for his hard work. On Saturday morning a team of muscle built the fire whilst the ladies went out for the food for the supper. The weather was kind all day so the fire and fireworks went off with a bang. Thanks go to all who donated fireworks. We had a good display as always. The supper after was the usual treat. Soup, Baked spuds, Hot dogs, Toffee, Parkin. We had the works. All toped off with a few beers. The perfect evening.
Sunday morning. Ho dear. Wet and windy. The Coffee morning went well, We raised £20.00 for the farmer to donate to The Children’s Hospital for the use of the barn. A raffle raised £20.00 towards the cost of the food.
We had some fun after the coffee morning. It took about 10 people, 2 Four wheel drives and at least half an hour to move 1 motor home. We won’t forget that one for a while.
All in all I think we had a very good weekend. A meet like this would not be possible without the help of all the members. So I would like to thank you all for your help. Large or small. It all matters.
See you all at the Dinner next week. DUNCAN
Hello again, this weekend went with a BANG, some good weather when we needed it and some rain to make getting of for some very difficult. A few broken tow ropes later and one of our visitors managed to get away. Oh for 4 wheel drive motor homes.
Thanks to Duncan & family for a good weekend including a feast on Saturday night after a good show of FIREWORKS from everyone, again set of by Duncan & Steve helped by Sam.
See you all next weekend at our dinner, Barrie
