Hi All. We have Just arrived home from another first class meet with Caldervale.

A warm welcome as usual on Friday from the stewards, Dave & Lorraine. A few beers with Sharron & Steve then an early night for me as work calls on Saturday morning. ( Sob, Sob. Somebody has to keep your pension money coming in). Arrived back on site about 1.00 pm on Saturday, Just enough time to get a shower then set up the TV in the Scout hut for the FA Cup Final. A good afternoon was had by all the lads that turned up. What a match. One of the best.

The Social on Saturday night was very entertaining. First off we had a Presentation of the Film Willy Wonka  for the FOL. ( my spell check thinks I have spelt Wonka wrong. It tells me it has another a in it ) A few Ideas and plenty for us all to do.

After the film we had a games night. How Dave sorted that out I will never know.( more luck than judgement I think) The Pie & peas went down well ( until Coffee morning that is. A bit of a whiff in that hut) All in all it was a Brill night. Well done. (Don’t tell the big wigs that we didn’t finish until gone twelve)

Sunday morning and the usual Coffee & site fees at 11-00.. Kath & the man that pulls me off won the van prize again. ( He’s rubbish at darts) .

As most of you know this was Lorraine & Dave’s last meet with us. I would like to say a very big thank you to them both for a first class meet. Most of all I would like to thank them for all the time and effort that they have given over the years. I think that you will all agree that when we needed entertaining they were always at the front of the queue. You will be missed. Thanks Again.

        Duncan & Sandra

Hi everyone, What a GREAT weekend (except for the weather), First thanks to Lorraine & David for a fun filled Saturday evening  We nearly went past 11 O'clock we were having such a good time.

As you can see from the pictures we had more games going of at once that David kept getting lost with his marking but we got there in the end. I lost to Duncan in the finnal of darts,no alowance for age but I don't mind really. I dont know who won the other games but well done to all who took part, I'm sure everyone enjoyed themselves. I am still getting over the PIE & pea supper. Thanks again to Lorraine & david for them.

We made progress on our theme for the FOL was it little red ridding hood (that should put others off) Keep busy preparing and I will see you all soon.

Last but not least we are all sorry to see Lorraine & David are leaving us but we wish them both all the best for the Future

BARRIE

We have never been to this site before but anyone that hasn't been, you have just missed a fantastic weekend superbly arranged by Dave and Lorraine. Despite the somewhat damp weather on Saturday, the social was brightened by the pub night and extra time we enjoyed, regardless that I didn't have a go at the darts and Barrie and I played the wrong game!! (oops, sorry Barrie I swore I wouldn't mention that!!!)

We would like to thank David and Lorraine for all their commitments and contributions to Caldervale throughout the years and are very sorry to see them go, but hope that you don't become strangers to us all. I am sure everyone will agree they will be sorely missed by each and everyone of us, and thought of fondly and memorably at all future Caldervale meets.

Take care both of you.
Love Sharron & Steve

Hi to you all,

Hazel and myself attended the meet at West Cowick and had a great weekend. Although the weather was not at it,s best, our hosts, David and Lorraine more than made up for it. As usual they gave us a meet to remember. From a warm welcome, a cup of tea and a good natter, to their rip roaring social on Saturday night and Sunday morning, to a bit of a subdued goodbye on Sunday afternoon.

For what ever their reasons they have said goodbye to Caldervale, we should not forget the contribution they have made to our Area.

They have been, along with Peter, Hannah and their pets, do you remember their snake and rat, active members of our Area for many a year. No matter what was asked of them, they always contributed and gave their best.

He was Chairman of our Area with Lorraine for three years, during which time the Area hosted the Feast of Lanterns and Annual General Meeting at Carlton Towers. I still have all the letters of thanks which were sent to the Area congratulating us and especially David and Lorraine for their hard work and commitment in organising this meet.

Hazel and myself thank them both for the contribution they have made over many years and wish them and their family well in the future.

I am sure it goes without saying, we all hope to see them out and about on the field in the years to come.

Hazel and Keith.

Superb Weather although can't say the same for the social - Or is that the other way around!!!!

Seriously, a fantastic site, just a shame the weather was as damp as it was, but that didnt reflect on the incredible evening - how Dave ever managed to keep track of who was doing what i'll never know. I think the whisky must have helped a little! Thanks for a very memorable evening.

One final message to Dave And Lorraine - from one webb-master to another!
Keep in touch - You'll always be made welcome - although I'm sure you already know that
Good luck both of you !
Richard and Miranda
