COMMITTEE MEMBERS MEETING 10.00am SATURDAY 15th JULY

Table Top Sale on Saturday

Hi All
Just home from Misterton. What a weekend. The weather was brill all weekend. Sandra and I arrived on Friday evening after work to a friendly welcome from our stewards for the weekend, Brenda & Peter. This was our first time out with our new van & awning so we was eager to get it up (The awning that is) It fitted like a glove.

After rounding a few volunteers we put the big tent up as we had a committee meeting early on Saturday morning.

Saturday morning came and the sun was shining. NOT WORKING for a change. Hooray.  The meeting started at 10-00 and finished at about 12-00. Not really much to talk about so what did we do for 2 hours? If you would like to know you are all welcome to see the minutes from the meeting. Just ask any committee member who should have a copy for you to look at. Remember we are not doing any thing behind your backs. We have to have a committee now and we are all working for the good of our club. Please have a look at the minutes.

Brenda & Peter organised a table top sale for the afternoon. We had about 8 stalls in all. After a good look around Barrie, Steve & I decided to go down the road for a game of golf. Robin came along as caddie. (you should have seen him with 3 golf bags on his back). While Barrie & Steve played Golf I had a game of hunt the white ball. First time I have played for a while. Thanks go to Audrey Hall for the loan of the clubs. The clubs must be bent because most of my shots went around corners. After 9 holes in the high temp. It was back to the van & a few beers and a BBQ.  The Social on Saturday night was very entertaining. Sorry to Peter for all the heckling. (It all adds to the fun)  After the Quiz answers and a game of name bingo we had a game of Play Your Cards Right. Good game, Good game as somebody once said. Well done to Robin who won the loot. Also a big clap to Brenda & Peter for a good evening.

Sunday morning and the sun was hotter than ever. Coffee morning was held out side the stewards van. After the usual announcements and van prizes the raffle was drawn. Once again thanks must go to all who donated prizes. After the coffee morning we took the tent down. (Too hot for all this work)  The weather was too nice to pack up and go home so Tiger woods, Nick Faldo & Myself decided to go for another game of Hunt the white round thing. Better round for me this time. I actually came back with more balls than I set off with. Never mind about the number of shots. (69 For me) How good is that for 9 holes. (yes I know, Not very) Thanks to Barrie (Tiger) & Steve (Nick) for a couple of very enjoyable afternoons.

t is sad when a weekend like this has to end, But for some (namely all us workers) it has to. So off home we went to leave the old’uns  on site to soak up the rest of the sun.

ll in all this was one of the best weekends so far this season for me. Well done to all of you for raising £50-00 for the Air Ambulance. A very good effort.

Last of all congratulations go to Brenda & Peter for another first class meet. Keep it up.
