FESTIVAL OF THE PLOUGH WEEKEND AT NEARBY EPWORTH

Well here we are again.

Sunday night and time for my meet report. I’m not going to go on this week as I have a lot to do in preparation for next week at Cherry tree Farm. When we arrived on Friday night we found all the usual crew with a few visitors thrown in for good measure. All in all I think we had about 14 units which I think is about average for this season. No DIY to do this weekend so after setting up, Robin and I went off to the local Chinese for the tea that he had organised. Very nice it was too.

Once again I didn’t want to go out for a drink but I thought it was my duty to patronise the local hostelry to make sure the land lord could take his poor kids on a sunshine holiday. (this was my good deed for the weekend) . A good night was had by all. Thanks lads.

Saturday morning and the sun was shining. (What is going on this season? Global warming? Bring it on that’s what I say) I woke feeling a bit under the weather. (Nothing to do with the little tipple the night before. Honest.)  Barrie dragged us golfers off for a game as Joan dragged some of the ladies off to the shops. (a pair of bad influences if you ask me) As you might have guessed, The golfers were back long before the shoppers. (not to worry. Time for an afternoon kip)

Saturday night and its Social time. Peter & Brenda had organised the usual fun and games.  Quiz, Beetle, Raffle, Food and not to mention take the Piss out of Duncan (just ask any one who was there). Once again a fun packed evening. It was nice to see our visitors enjoying Caldervales hospitality again. The raffle raised just over £25.00 for The Air Ambulance. Well done to Brenda & her man for that.

Sunday morning and you have guessed it. More Sunshine. Brill.  At the risk of sounding boring. The Golf team went golfing and Joan dragged the spenders to the shops again. (we did have fun Audrey)  My best game of golf ever. I wanted to go round again. It took 3 of them to drag me off kicking and screaming.  ( I will be back down to earth next time)

When we all arrived back on site we just had time for a bite to eat and a cuppa. We had a little chat about the plans for next week at Cherry Tree Farm, Then it was time to Take the tent down and pack up to go home. That is for some of us. Have you noticed that I have got this far without mentioning the word WORK.  I have this dream. On Sunday afternoon I stay on site and all the pensioners have to pack up to go to work. (dream on Dunc) My time will come. Did I say at the start that I am not going to go on this time? I think I did. Well pack up we did and of home we went.

Once again Peter & Brenda have organised a first class weekend. ( How do they do it to organise the sun on there meets?) Well done to you both. Many more I hope.

Well we hope to see you all next week at the new site near Hatfield, so we can make loads for The Air Ambulance.

                                               Keep on Rockin
                                               Duncan & The Spender.

Hello again,

I don't know how we keep managing such good weather, its been great again this weekend, more sitting out and enjoying ourselves. We had to go to the pub again on Friday night, Just 4 0f us but we had a drink for absent friends. Saturday we golfers went for a knock on the local golf coarse, and enjoyed it while our other halves went shopping. They took longer than it took us to go round the course.Saturday night started of in the tent with our hosts Brenda & Peter giving us the answeres to the quiz, then a game of progresive BEETLE, that caused a few moves around the tent.

Then the ladies who had been shopping had bought some musical insruments while they were shopping and asked Duncan to fetch his Penny whistle and give us a tune ,(Duncan didn't know about the instruments at this time )he took a bit of persuading but in true Duncan style he finally gave in and went off to fetch his whistle, when he got back we asked him to give us his best tune and next thing all the ladies got up with there instruments and started to help him out , after a few seconds Duncan realised what was going off,HE HAD BEEN WELL AND TRULY GOT. WELL DONE LADIES .

That will take a bit of living down we have long memories. Thanks to our hosts for the supper that followed.Sunday morning followed the same pattern as Saturday, except that Ivan came with us for a walk round the golf course,we will try to get a buggy for you next time Ivan.we had our usual get together at lunch time outside as well, and Duncan made last minuite arrangements for next weekends AIR AMBULANCE FUN weekend , hope to see you all there don't forget your money ,that's what we are after in exchange for some fun.

See you there Barrie &Joan.
