Hi everyone
Just home from Everton hill cottage. Mum & Dad have been our stewards this weekend. ( They might get the hang of it soon) Nice to see 12 vans out this time. This is a nice field but for a bit of a steep entrance. Not a problem for most (Read on)
By the time I arrived most had had the usual warm welcome from the Stewards. We decided not to go off site on Friday night so I went in to Sharron & Steves van for a little tipple.
Saturday morning and the weather was nice. Steve and I went for our game of golf at Misterton assisted by Kieth with the score card. When we arrived back on site we found most had taken advantage of the near by shops in Gainesboro. When our crew arrived back on site you could hardly see them in the car for all the shopping. ( Good job you wasn’t hear Joan. You would have had to go on the roof rack)
Saturday night was left free as it was to cold to sit around out side. We all did our own thing. (Whatever that is behind your blinds). I entertained the stewards family and a couple of friends in my van as I am in there click. A good night was had by all I think.
Sunday morning and it was still fine. The coffee morning was held outside Mum & Dads van. Do You all know Robin still hasn’t got Janet her summer house. Come on you tight sod. Get your hand in your pocket. We will keep on at him Janet. The fight goes on. After coffee morning as people started to leave the site, the ground started to churn a bit in the gate. This was not a problem as it only took a little push to get most going. As I said earlier the entrance is a bit steep. That was my down fall. As I left the site the back end of my van bottomed on the floor. I was stuck. Couldn’t go backwards, Couldn’t go forwards. The back panel was cracked so after assessing the situation for 10 seconds I decided I couldn’t do much more damage so I pulled away. Its my fault for having a long one. (The van is quite long as well) I will reverse out next year. You will be glad to know the damage was only to the rear panel and not to the floor of the van. I have done a little repair job on it and it doesn’t look to bad.
Well that’s it for now. Thanks again to Dum & mad for the weekend.
Sorry I wont be at Hepworth next weekend. I’m doing some running about for the Bonfire meet. Hope to see you there.
Duncan.
