Bonfire Meet - Please bring one large firework and donations for the supper in the barn after the bonfire.

Hello again,

What a great weekend ,I am not sure but I think it is NOVEMBER but the weather doesen't think so.Another bonfire meet with a good fire supplied mainly by Duncan (Thanks Duncan)and what a great fireworks display. Then it was down to the barn for tomvegminmushetc. Soup,(it seems to get better every year)hot dogs with onions, hot potatoes and loads of parkin etc. Thanks to Robin & Janet for the hotdogs. We had a raffle to help pay for the food, which was purchased by our ladies, its just an excuse for them to go shopping but I think they enjoy it,we men had to stuggle to get the fire sorted out AHAHAH.After a good feast we just sat around singing to Duncan's old time records (well I think it was singing)

Sunday stayed bright and after coffee morning we had to say fairwell to this season of camping, only our dinner weekend left now, then of to Lincoln for the Christmas Fair , hope it stays fine for that then we can truly say what a fantastic season , and look forward to next year.

See you all next weekend and I will let you into the secret of who has won the CLOCK.

Bye for now Joan & Barrie.

Hi everyone.
Well only one meet to go then we all hibernate for the winter.

This weekend we have been to Gleeb Farm for the bonfire meet. The weather was kind to us all weekend. Plenty of sunshine on all 3 days.  After signing on Friday morning the day was a bit slow. Barrie & Joan arrived first just after 12.00 then not much activity  until later in the afternoon. By the end of Friday we had 11 vans on site including 3 visitors.

Saturday morning came and the sun was shining. Plenty to do in the morning. The blokes went up the field to build the bonfire whilst the women folk went out to get the food for the supper. It only took 6 of them 4 hours to get 60 sausages,2 bags of spuds and a bit of bread. It’s that Joan, she’s a bad influence. The site was lovely and quiet until they arrived back. Then we had to sit down and have a coffee to recover from the shopping expedition. (see Photo). In the afternoon Mum started the Soup, Robin started on the onions. What a whiff. I took charge of all the firework donations as usual. Once again people were very generous.

At 6-30 Barrie lit the fire & Steve and I set the fireworks off.  Afterwards we all met in the barn for the supper. Another feast fit for a king. Soup, Spuds, Hot Dogs, Parkin, Cake, The works. We held a raffle to cover the cost of the food that we had to buy. Thanks must go to all who donated prizes. After taking out our expenses we had a surplus of  £30-00 which we donated to the Farmers charity for the use of the barn . We rounded the night off with a bit of a sing song. A good night was had by all I think.

Sunday morning was sunny but a little windy. I woke early and went down to the barn to do a bit of sorting out before the coffee morning. Robin held the usual chit chat at 11-00.

Another successful meet I think. It went with a bang ( pardon the pun)  As always this kind of meet takes a little more organising than others. Without the help of many people I would struggle to do it on my own. Thanks go to every one that chipped in to make it possible. It would be nice to see a few more of our members out next year to enjoy it with us.

Well next week is the end of another season and I am looking forward to the Dinner & Dance. I will be putting some music on after the food to try and get you all up on the dance floor with your Zimmer frames. ( Joke, Joke, Sorry)

See you then.

                                                Duncan.
