Communal BBQ on saturday evening.

Hi All.
Well it was our turn to do the Stewarding this week. 10 Vans including us. The weather forecast wasn't very good but as usual they got it wrong again. It was a glorious weekend. Wall to wall Sun and warm temperatures.
We put the tent up on Friday when all the bits arrived and decided to have a get together. A nice chin wag and a Quiz hosted by Arron. Well done son. (Chairman in the making). We also played a game that someone made up on the spur of the moment. Can't think of a name for it yet. (Crap springs to mind I hear you all shouting). Well it passed on an hour.
Saturday and the weather was fine from the off. A few went off site to hit the shops whilst most just soaked up the sun. Steve and I had a game of bowls. I let him win of course. At 4-30 we lit the BBQ,s for the communal tea. As you can see from the photos we had a feast. Good food, Good Company and a bit of booze. What could be better?
Just enough time to let the tea settle then its time for the Social. I decided to hold the Annual Dominos and connect 4 championships With a few Quizzes thrown in for good measure. A big thanks must go to Hazel & what's his name for doing the draws for me. A good job well done. (That should keep them Quiet for a bit) What was the result I hear you all shout? Well in second place in the dominoes was Arthur. In second place in the connect 4 was Keith. But in first place in both events was ------------------------------------------drum roll----------------- JANET. Well done to you. And to think she wanted to bring her knitting in case she got board during the social. I think we all enjoyed the night. Thanks to you all for taking part and the supper was just enough after the banquet at tea time.
Sunday morning was dull to start but warm. Coffee morning was held at 11-00 as usual in the tent. I had quite a bit to get through so it was quite a long one. The main bit was the presentation to the champion. Solid gold medal no less. (Janet, remember to take it off when your neck turns green) Thanks to all who donated raffle prizes. We made just over £35-00 for The Air Ambulance from the bonus ball, raffle, a donation and Audrey's marmalade etc. Thanks to you all for that. Also thanks go to Shaza & Steve for serving the Tea & coffee. (she wont thank me for that. She doesn't like being called Shaza) After I had given everybody an outline of what had been said at the BCC AGM it was nearly 1-00 pm. (I do go on don't I) After coffee it was tent down and time to pack up. The sun was shining so nobody wanted to rush off.
Sandra and myself have really enjoyed putting this meet on for you all. We hope you all had a good time. (Audrey's catch phrase)
Hope to see you all at Shepley.
Duncan & Sandra

PS. To top a brilliant weekend Lewis Hamilton won his first Grand Prix. Can it get better? (Yes he could win at Silverstone when we are watching him)

Many thanks to Duncan and Sandra for a great weekend the weather was great plus the socials and we have a new champion for doms and connect four and do i know it i have to live with it now walking round with a medal it was nice to see all Caldervale out many thanks to all

Robin and Janet.

Hello all, What a good weekend again, good weather and good company, you can't ask for more than that. Thanks to Sandra and Duncan for a good fun weekend,

The Friday night get together was the start to it all,fun and games as usual with Duncan's inpromptue quiz of doubles. Saturday we had aBar-B- Que all together,as you can see our usual array of top line chefs where on hand to cook some special meals. Well mine was OK and looking at everyone putting the food away I think everyone else enjoyed there's as well.No sooner was dinner over than Duncan was back rounding up the gang for a fun filled evening of Connect 4 and Dominoes. After a long hard  contest we had a wearthy winner  of BOTH games in JANET. Well done to you Janet (a sign of a miss spent youth and too much time on your hands).

The evening came to an end all too soon and we all managed to get some rest before our coffee morning  not too long this time it only lasted about 2 hours.Nice to get through so much when ther is a good turnout of members so that they can have a say in what goes on, hope everyone manages to get something towards the FOL, please ask if you need any help and I will try to help where I can.

Thanks once again to Sandra & Duncan for the weekend, and well done to all who came to help make it.     See you at Shepley Joan & Barrie.
