F.O.L. Working Weekend

Hi ,
We have just arrived home from Everton Hill Cottage. The first thing to mention is NO RAIN. We arrived on Friday tea time to a Caldervale welcome from Mum & Dad. After a cuppa and a bite to eat, Barrie & I went down to Misterton to pick up the tent. We decided just to give the canvas a good clean on Friday night. If you remember we put it away in a bit of a state the last time we used it at Misterton. Thanks go to Keith & Dad for your help. We had a little get together on Friday night to look at Keith’s video of his helicopter flight. On Saturday morning the sun was shining so it was up with the tent in time for us to do some work on the bits and bobs for the FOL. Things are looking good. We should put on another good display.
The weather was wonderful so we had a quick BBQ before the social hosted by myself. This was a recycled social as everything I did had been seen before at some time or other. Except for the bingo that is. This was a first. I was given a new Bingo machine by someone who will remain nameless. Go on then ,It was our Sandra. Lovely machine. The only problem was that half way through the game I realised that the numbers in the machine only went up to 75 and the numbers on the tickets went up to the usual 90. Never mind I got around it and I don’t think anyone noticed. (Much) Keith cooked us all Hot Dogs on the BBQ for supper which I think went down well with all. The big problem was the fly’s. Millions of the little buggers. We had to cut the evening short at 10.15 as we couldn’t stand it any longer. We were being eaten alive. I think we all had a good night. Thanks to all who helped.
Sunday morning and the sun was still shining. A short Coffee morning at 11.00 Then time to take the tent down ready for next week. Packing up wasn’t very nice as the sun was beating down.
All in all another fab weekend. Thanks go to Mum & Dad and there helpers.
See you all soon

Duncan
