Air ambulance charity fund raising on saturday. Stalls, BBQ, raffles, not to be missed. Come and enjoy the fun and raise money for charity. All under cover. Social saturday night in tent.

Hi there, just back from our weekend at Hatfield. A busy time but we had a great time and raised money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. We got there about 10ish knowing that it was going to be a little busy getting things ready for when everyone arrived, it was a little windy to start with  but after getting ourselves set up we started on the 1st tent. We are quite used to it now but with only three of us to start with it was a bit of a struggle in the wind. We had a hand from some visitors as we put the legs in place untill we got the straps in place to hold it down. We had just got he sides in and pegged down and the new tent inside when the rain started  so we had a break for lunch. It was still raining when we started again but the wind had eased off so that was a bit better. We started by marking all the new tent so that we don't get it mixed up with the old one when we put it away. All went well till we put the side on then we found it was a little short so we had to dig some holes to lower the legs into so the canvas reached the floor to keep out the brease, then we had a rest for the evening.

Saturday saw everyone getting ready for the fund raising events, and at 1,oclock we started. lots of money being raised and a good time by all. Thanks go to everyone for the effort put in to make it a success.Saturday evening we had a social run by Duncan and I am sure everyone had a good time ,some good PUB name drawings and a very enjoyable supper provided by everyone. Thanks must go to our ladies who worked well all weekend mashing tea etc.I think we must set a record for mashings in a weekend. We will try to beat it next time.THANKS to all our visitors for joining in and helping us to make the weeknd a special one.Spread the word and we will try and have a better time next year.

See you next weekend at Drax ( don't forget your golf clubs)

Hi to you all
Well what a successful meet we have just arrived home from. This was our main Air Ambulance Fund Raiser of the year. We arrived on Thursday tea time so I could to get an early start on Friday.
I decided to make a start on the small tent on my own on Friday morning. Before I could get very far I was joined by our Sandra in her pyjamas, Mum with her hair all over the shop and Dad minus his teeth. Not a pretty sight I can tell you. Well we managed it despite the wind.

Barrie & Joan arrived early so we started to put up the other two big tents with the help of Dad. We battled hard with the first one as the wind was blowing but we managed in the end. The second one was a little easer as we had a bit of rain which eased the wind. Once up, the 2 tents side by side idea worked a treat. Hard work but worth it in the end. Thanks go to Dad, Barrie & Tony for your help.
Whilst we was fighting with our erection (now now, you know what I mean) the ladies were serving the teas to the guests that arrived in a steady stream all day. We finished up with 20 units on site. Friday night and a few of the lads went to the local for a swift one or three.

Saturday came and the weather was a bit dull but dry. All Caldervale members rolled up the old sleeves and started to get the stalls ready as the fair opened at 1.00. We ended up with about 15 attractions in total. Plenty for Members & guests to spend a few quid on. Keith ,Robin & myself cooked the Burgers & Hot dogs on the BBQ. Hope it wasn’t our fault that a few had a bit of a rough night with the two bob bits etc.
The weather was very kind to us again and I think everybody had a ball. Thanks to everybody that helped to run the stalls and games.

I held a Social on Saturday night. One of my usual feasts of fun and frolic. I hope you all enjoyed it. As I have said before, If I enjoy putting it on I feel that you have been entertained. Thanks for joining in.
Sunday morning and time for the Coffee morning at 11.00. All the usual Banta and announcements from me. We also had the raffle draw. 32 prizes in total so plenty to go around. After coffee it was time for the hard work to start again. 2 tents to take down and pack away. It didn’t take long with all the willing helpers.

A meet like this could not happen without the help of so many people. You all did Caldervale proud again. Every visitor on site left with a lasting memory of a hard working and friendly area. I am sure we will see all of them again. I can now tell you that with all your hard work and generosity we made a staggering £343.00 for the Air Ambulance.

Once again a Big,Big thank you to everybody that attended the meet and worked so hard for this worthy cause.
See You All Soon
Duncan
