Hi . Its me again.
This weekend we have been to Barnburgh with Barrie & Joan as our hosts. 7 vans in total this week. A disappointing turnout as this was to be the resurrection of the Caldervale FOL, and what a success it was as you will read later.
We arrived as usual at about 6-00 to be greeted by our hosts. After setting the van we went for a cuppa and a chinwag. The dripping was lovely. Thank you.
After tea most of us went to the pub for a few drinks. Thanks to you all for a pleasant evening.
Unfortunately I had to work on Saturday morning so I missed out on going shopping with the ladies. Whilst the golf crew went for a round at Owsten park. (Did I get that the right way round?).
Back on site by about 1-30 for me. After a quick shower and a bite to eat I decided to make a early start on our display.
We decided to light up at seven so after tea we all pulled the genies.
WOW. What a show. Every van on site had lit up. As you can see from the photos we had a ball. Well done to everybody for putting in the time and effort. Congratulations go to mum & dad as Barrie gave them the winners trophy for there display. ( The Summer Fair)
We all met in Barrie & Joan's awning for a get together afterwards. A good night was had by all. Soup, Bread , Parkin we had the lot. Thanks to you both for a brill night. ( Don't tell the Chairman but we didn't finish till nearly 12-00).
Sunday was a bit dull and drizzly to start with but it soon cleared. Coffee morning was at 11-00 as usual. Quite a long one this time as I had some announcements and Sharron had a few things to go over about next years sites.
After coffee we packed up and went off straight away as we had a family meal to go to. (Matt's Birthday).
All in all another fantastic weekend. Its a pity that more of you didn't see the display on Saturday night. I hope we get a few more out next year.

Hello again, just back from our weekend at Barnborough and our FOL Saturday evening .
If you were not there you missed out on a good time and a fantastic show on Saturday evening when all those that turned out did a great show of lighting up and putting on a display in their vans (just take a look at the pictures , not very good quality but you can see what a good show was put on ).We arived Friday about 12 o,clock and were set up by 1,oclock. Robin was first to arrive about 2,15 , a first for him so he said. Sharron & Steve were last at about 7,30 by which time we had 7 in total.Friday evening we went to the corner of the sita and visited the local pub for a get together and refreshments.
We also made arrangements for Saturday golf and shopping trip, sorry you had to work Duncan but we enjoyed the golf for you but didn't get a hole in one for you.In the evening we lit up at about 7,oclock and had a look round all the displays,and with it being fine weather we didn't have to rush or get wet. After the light show we retired to our awning where we had a good natter and supper and a good laugh.Sunday morning we had coffee morning and had Brenda & Peter visit us.
