CALDERVALE AND SOUTH YORKSHIRE BCC - ANNUAL DINNER DANCE

MOSTLY HARD STANDING. Full membership of Sports and Social club whilst camping.

Well Hello again.
This is definitely the last report of this year. Well that is until the December Social.
We have just arrived home from the Dinner / Dance at Eggbourough.  Another good weekend with our friends. We arrived on Friday night as usual. After tea we all descended on the club for a tipple or three. It’s a good job we did as it was on the quiet side to say the least. Thanks to all who attended for your company. Saturday morning and it was off to the golf course for some of the golf society. A new course for us this time. I will mention that we had to turn back when we were half way to the course as one of us had forgot his shoes. I’m sure Barrie will tell you who it was. Well it was a very enjoyable walk in the end. Only spoiled by the silly little white round thing that we had to hit about. I tell a lie. It was a brill day. Thanks to the lads for that. On arrival back on site, we found that as usual the shopping crew had ventured in to Selby for a bit of retail therapy.
Just time for a snack and a kip before getting ready for the dinner in the club.
Sandra and our helpers went over a bit early to set things up. The rest arrived at 7-30 for the meal.  Not the best meal that I have ever had it must be said. Some bits of it very nice, some bits very poor. After the meal I revealed who had won the Bandstand Clock for attending the most meets this season. Congratulations go to Joan & Barrie for winning that.
I put on some music to try to get a few up dancing. I think I managed eventually.  All in all a good night was had by everybody. Thank you Sharron for the organisation. It Is appreciated.
Sunday morning came and it was time to pack up. No coffee morning and things to do at home, so nobody hung around.
I would like to thank all who attended this weekend for your company. I for one really enjoyed myself and look forward to the 2008 season.
All that is left for me to do is wish you all a Very Merry Christmas & a Happy & Healthy New Year from Sandra & Myself. We Hope to see you all at the social in December.

Duncan & Sandra.

Hello again,  I thought I had finished for this year but I forgot about our dinner report. I think we all enjoyed the evening meal( almost )

Thanks to those who set out the tables they looked great, and thanks to Duncan for his evening's entertainment and music, and after dinner speech. I won the CLOCK, how I don't know! I thought we had been away too often but it seems like everyone else has been away as well. Joan hasn't said anything yet I don't know if she has noticed it. Thanks anyway and I hope to put another name on it next year.

I hope you all have a great time over the festive season and hope to see you at our winter walk.
Bye for now  Barrie.
