Hi there, back from another good weekend meet hosted by Sandra & Duncan. We are doing quite well for fine weather, apart from Friday evening ,when it rained and stopped us meeting in the tent, we have had a fantastic time, too hot to sit out for too long for me, I am still feeling the effects of the sun.

Anyway we managed to get the tent up on Friday before the rain came and on Saturday Joan and I went into Retford for a change, we did a spot of retail therapy and enjoyed a stroll around town, then it was back to the site and a spot of sun bathing.Saturday evening we were entertained by Duncan and I think everyone enjoyed themselves.I have forgotten the sequence of how things went, but Debbie & Mat bought a trailer tent and what a bargain, hope to see you out in it next weekend and many more to come. Sandra didn't want to be out done so she is hoping to do a swop for her caravan, and then Duncan & sandra toped them all with a new van. We will have to stick to our s for a bit longer yet, we didn't win on the lottery, Again.

We stayed till Monday which is a bit of a change but I came home then so I could go to golf on Tuesday morning.Well that's about all for now hope to
see you all next weekend at Shepplyfor another good weekend . Travel safe
bye for now Joan & Barrie.

This week we have been on a five nighter at Misterton. A wonderful change for Sandra and myself to be able to steward a long weekend. We arrived on Wednesday night to get set up ready for the Meet opening on Thursday. The weather was glorious on Thursday morning. That was until the vans started to arrive, they all brought the dull weather with them. New rule. Leave the bad weather at home. All in favour? We had around 14 units by Thursday night which was a good start.
Friday came and the weather was still quite dull another 6 units to make about 20 so not to bad. Just time for a cuppa and a chat before we put the tent up. Thanks to all who helped. We decided to have a get together and arranged to meet in the tent at about 8.30. Well this get together didn’t happen. The heavens opened. Heavy rain for a good few hours. Our Deb & Matt were looking forward to sleeping in the new tent. Did I say tent? What I should have said was colander. Up went the inner tent in our awning.
Saturday morning came and so did the sun. Most people took advantage of the weather to go off site to take in the various local shopping centres. Not to mention Yorkshire Caravans down the road. A lovely day was had by all.
Saturday night and time for another of my socials. The tent was heaving. The punters must have heard how good the host was. (Nothing like blowing your own trumpet.) It’s a good job the weather was fine. The only way for me to get from one end of the tent to the other was on the outside. I was bushed by the end of the night. We served the supper out side which made a nice change. Thanks go to all who helped with that. We had the usual game of bingo (Sorry that it wasn’t up to the Webb’s standard) A game of what’s in the Box and a TV themes Quiz to finish off with. Audrey Hall was the star of the show. I think she had some good ideas for some new American cop shows. What about Starskey & Lacey and then Cagney & Hutch. Audrey you are a star. Thanks for being a good sport. I think a good night was had by all.
Sunday morning and the Sun was still shining. We took the sides out of the tent for the coffee morning as it was far too hot to sit inside. All the usual blah blah from me then it was tent down and packed away in the barn for the next meet here.
What a nice feeling it was not to have to pack up and go home. Now I know how all you old uns feel when you are waving us off site on Sunday afternoon. We invited the select few in to our awning for a couple of drinks on Sunday night. When I say the select few, I Actually mean all the ones who were left who hadn’t got any friends to go to. ONLY JOKING. ONLY JOKING.
We had a nice night chatting about this and that didn’t we?
Monday came and the weather was still very nice. I was supposed to be stopping till Tuesday but Peter offered to finish the meet off so we could go home as I had some things to sort out. That was a big help, Thanks for that Brenda & Peter.
All in all this has been a very nice weekend. It was nice to see a couple of old friends of Caldervale out with us again and we hope to see more of them. Thanks to “The Family” again for all your help (Sounds like the Mafia) Also thanks to all who helped in any way and to all who attended.

See you all soon

Duncan & Sandra.
