BBQ saturday afternoon
Hi there, back from our weekend at Barnsdale Bar with Sharron & Steve our hosts. What a mixed weekend of weather.
We arrived on Friday and it looked like being a fine time, which it was then. Saturday morning started fine but didn’t last long at all, by the time we golfers got ready to leave it started to rain ,not much but things changed. After about three holes we took of our coats as it was getting quite warm, but then it started to drizzle quite heavy again and it didn’t stop till we got back to site. We were wet and it took some time to dry out. It can’t have been too bad because it didn’t stop the ladies going shopping as usual. Saturday evening we went down to the barn for a get together and had an eventful social planed by Sharron & Steve, things just didn’t want to go right but we had a laugh and an American supper so we all enjoyed it.
Sunday morning started fine but the wind soon got up and the first thing I knew Iris was outside asking for help as their awning was trying to act as a sail and take the van across the fields. By the time I got out there were others helping and it was soon made safe. After coffee morning which we held outside in the wind behind Duncan’s van, we sat around hoping for the wind to drop a bit before going home. It didn’t so we left about 3-00 O’clock. All in all we had another good weekend thanks to Sharron & Steve & hope you had a good concert.

Our Stewards this week have been Sharron & Steve. We were last on site on Friday tea time making the numbers up to 8.
After setting up it was the usual cuppa and a chin wag with the stewards. After a bite to eat, Sharron & Steve joined us for a Drink or two and a chat.
Saturday morning came and the weather was what can only be described as S—t. Sandra and I had a good old Lay in. Not surfacing till about 10.30. (Must be the fresh air because I cant do it at home.) The Golf crew had gone for a game, We went in to Doncaster for a look around and a few of the shopping gang went to ??????? Sorry don’t know where they went but I know they had a good look around and spent a few bob. The weather was bad all day. That horrible drizzle that wets you through. The golf crew looked a bit soggy when they arrived back on site. In the evening we all went down to the barn for Sharron & Steve’s Social. A few things went wrong for them but we still had a good night. Bingo, Quiz, Chinese Bingo and the American Supper. Thanks to you both for a enjoyable night.
Sunday morning came all too soon. The weather was Dry and sunny today but WOW what a wind was blowing. Mum & Dad Needed help to get the porch awning down in a rush as the wind was battering it head on. Sorry but again I was still in bed oblivious to it all. Thanks to all who helped. We had the coffee morning at the side of our van as it made a good wind brake. All the usual announcements etc. Sharron & Steve had to leave straight after the coffee morning as they were going to Manchester to see a concert. (Hope you both had a good time). We stayed on site to watch the Grand Prix on the box before packing up and getting on our way. Thanks to all who attended this meet and a big thank you goes to Sharron & Steve for Stewarding. Sorry, no photos from me this week as I forgot my camera.
We won’t be out next week as it is our annual pilgrimage to Cardiff for the Speedway Grand Prix. Hope you all have a good one. See you soon
