Evening all.
This week we have been to Ranah Stones farm with our hosts Audrey & Ted. We arrived on Friday tea time to make a disappointing 6 vans. The weather was nice and bright. After a cuppa with our Stewards it was back to the van for a bite to eat.
Later in the evening we was joined by Mum & Dad , And Hazel & Keith for a drink or two to christen our new van. Thanks for a nice evening.
Saturday morning came and the weather was very wet. Sandra and I went for a drive to get some bits and bats for the van. When we arrived back on site the weather had brightened up a lot. We all had a cuppa and a chat sat around Barrie & Joan’s van. Audrey said she would show us the instrument that she used for Ted when she went to bed. Well what could it be????? It turned out to be a mouth shield to stop her snoring. What a let down. She did give us a preview of what she looked like with it in, ( hope Barrie puts the Photo on his report) I can now understand why Ted sleeps with the pillow over his head. Thanks for being a good sport Audrey; we did have a good laugh. We decided to put the little party tent up for a get together in the evening. The wind was blowing but we managed the job as usual. Thanks to all who helped.
After a wonderful meal cooked by yours truly ( nothing like blowing your own trumpet) we all gathered in the tent. Only a free and easy but what a nice night we had. Chatting about old times and putting the world to rights. Thanks to all for a very enjoyable evening.
Sunday morning came and so did the rain. What a horrible morning. We had the coffee morning in the tent as usual. What a subdued atmosphere. We are in July and the weather is crap to say the least. After the coffee morning, Mum & Dad , Sandra and me went to our van to watch Lewis win the British Grand Prix. Typical. The first time we don’t go for years and a Brit wins.
As usual when we started to pack up the sun came out and what a nice afternoon it was. To nice to go home , but we had to.
Once again a good weekend and thanks go to Audrey & Ted for there efforts. It’s a shame more didn’t enjoy it with us.
Hope to see you all at Misterton for our committee meeting weekend.
Duncan.
Hello all, this is only a week late but as they say better late than never (but better never late).
We had a very wet start but our hosts Audry & Ted were there to greet us with a cuppa and a chat.We didn't do much Friday evening as the weather stopped everything, I had to go out Saturday morning to meet a friend in Peniston and I had to go in the rain. In the afternoon it dried up and we went to Holmefirth to do a bit of shopping and it was so nice we had fish & chips outside by the river. When we got back we helped put up the party tent ready for a get together Saturday evening.
We just sat around talking about all who didn't turn out so if your ears ears were burning you now know why.We managed to fend off the rain and wind and stuck it out till throwing out time.Sunday was quite nice and we sat outside for a cuppa and to hear why Ted had put up a tent in there awning. It's a long story, enough to say its due to Audry snoring, she has spent a lot of money trying to stop it but it doesn't always work. You can see from the pictures just what she has suffered in an attempt to put it right. Our feelings go out to you Ted I thing we would all rather sleep on our own in the awning than have to wake up at the side of that in the middle of the night, It would frighten me to death.( only kidding Audry)
Thanks to both Audry & Ted for hosting another good weekend even if the weather was not too good.
See you all soon Joan & Barrie.
