From the south follow the A1 to Newcastle, the take the A696 North towards Rochester/Edinburgh and then onto the A68 North. Continue through St Boswells then turn right in Earlston onto the A6105 towards Gordon. In Gordon turn right (South) towards Kelso on the A6089, then and then look for brown "Mellerstain House" signs
