Full use of club facilities whilst on site
Hi Again
This week we have been to Drax Power Station on the last leg of the Hazel & Keith tour. Kieth had his hands full on Friday as he opened the meet on his own. Unfortunately Hazel was joining Dad ,Mum, Sandra and my brother David at a family funeral in Glostershire on Friday morning. Keith did a sterling job. When we arrived late at about 6-45 ish he had about 20 vans on site, which I think is a record for us at Drax. Once again Caldervale members out numbered by visitors.
On Friday night we gathered in the Club to sample the many brews on offer. A good night was had by all.
Saturday morning and yet again the sun was shining. I think that is 3 weekends on the trot, we could get used to this. The Golfing boys went to play with there balls again. (Sorry I cant resist putting a bit of smut in) Whilst the ladies did the shopping thing. I have been told that they had a new recruit this week. Hope you enjoyed it Kath. Charlie certainly enjoyed whipping my ass at Golf. On Saturday night about 20 of us gathered in the club for another chin wag. Unfortunately a few people who intended joining us couldn’t because they didn’t feel to well with one thing or another. It is probably a good job you didn’t come as Barrie wouldn’t let any one else get a look-in with the sandwiches and sausage rolls as you can see from the photo. Once again a nice night was had by all.
Sunday morning came and it was still quite nice so we held the coffee morning out side for a change. Just a short one this week with all the usual bits and bobs. After the coffee morning we stayed to watch the Grand Prix before packing up and being last off the site which is unusual for us.
Congratulations must go to Hazel & Keith for another enjoyable weekend. It does make a change when we have a free and easy when you can do whatever you like. It is also nice for the stewards not to have to organise a social for a change. Well done to you both and your helpers for the last 3 weekends.
See you all at the Goose Fair

Hello again, another good weekend without rain. I don't know how we have done it but it suits everytime. We arrived Friday lunch time to find Keith all on his own,no Hazel and families as they had gone to Stroud for a funeral.Sad times but they keep happening.Keith had managed to get Iris & Ivan's van on site after they had a spot of bother with the Motor mover at Haxey Queys. After a welcoming cuppa we helped keith put up Iris's awning so that they didn't have to start when they got back on site, good job we did as they got stuck in trafic and were quite late back.
We had quite a few visitors again this weekend and it's always nice to see them and hope you come again. Friday evening we went for a little light refreshment in the club and enjoyed a good natter. Saturday saw the golf gang go for a round on a very nice course, and the ladies managed to find their way to Selby for a spot of retail therapy. In the afternoon I went to take some pictures of the site and noticed a young dear inside the Drax compound, not what I expected to see there.Saturday evening we once again went to the club but without Keith and Robin as they were a little under the weather(not the drink either).
Sunday morning we had coffee and site fee paying around the flag as usual. As the weather was still nice I went with Robin on another walk for about an hour before a spot of lunch and a sit in the sun.
Thanks to Hazel & Keith for stewarding (that's the 3rd in a row,I think they are enjoying themselves)and thanks to all for a good weekend. Bye for now hope to see you at the Goose Fair,
Joan & Barrie
