Hi Everybody. What a start we are having to the 2009 season. Winterset this week with our hosts Lorraine & Mike helped by Mathew.
We arrived on Friday tea time in very nice weather to find 6 vans on site. That number rising to 7 when Richard & Lindsay arrived later. We set up and went to catch up with all the gossip with our stewards. After a bite to eat and the obligatory Coronation Street ( Both episodes I might add) We met up with a few of the regular boozers in the local pub. A very nice village pub. The landlady was a bit scary. Buxom flirty type. Know what I mean. Some blokes have ventured into her blouse and never been seen again. Off course I stayed well clear. All the others were all over her like a rash. Well it did give us something to talk about. After putting the world to rights it was time to wobble back to our vans for the night.
Saturday morning started a bit dull but soon became nice and bright. Sandra and I went for a quick look around Pontefract and spent a few bob for the pleasure. After returning to site Barrie gave me another lesson in how to loose a few golf balls. If you have never been to this site, It is a very large field so there is plenty of room for the golfers to hit a few up the field. (Away from the vans of course) We had a couple of young lads on site so we invited them to have a go. A nice afternoon that made a change from a full game. Tea time came and the sun was out so I decided to give the old Barbie its first airing of the season. Just time for a little nap before taking Joan & Barrie up on there offer to join them for a natter in there van. Some of the others stayed on site and did there own thing. Some even ventured back up to have a second look at the landlady’s chest. All in all it was a good night. Thanks for the company.
Sunday morning and the weather started on the dull side but soon brightened up to leave us in warm sunshine. Sharron & Steve visited us for the usual Coffee morning at 11.00. All the usual things, including the answers to a near impossible quiz set by Lorraine. Don’t really know how the eventual winner got 25 out of 30 but they did so well done to them. Our hosts also held a raffle over the weekend which raised over £17.00 for the Air Ambulance. Cheers for that.
After Coffee morning we stayed at our van for a chat and a coffee whilst a few went for a walk around the lake that backs our field. Then it was time to set off on our way home.
Thanks again to Mike, Lorraine & Mathew for a very pleasant weekend again. We won’t be out next weekend unfortunately, but please do try and give Richard and Lindsay your support at Glebe Farm.
See you all at Wighill for the May Day Meet.

Hello there, back from another good weekend at Wintersett hosted by Lorraine & Mike. Bit windy on fridaybut it didn't stop us making it to the local in the evening, What bar staff they have, nearly as good as the beer.
Saturday was a little windy but we had a walk round the res. I was a little surprized to see so many people out enjoying themselves. The golfers had to make do with a little practice on the field but we enjoyed it and were joined by two young lads of the site. We didn't loose too many balls but if you find any next year you know who they belong to.
Sunday morning we had our coffee morning and Lorraine & Mike drew the raffle prizes ,Proceeds to the air ambulance. After a little walk it was time to go home. Thanks again to our stewards for a good weekend .
See you all soon Barrie
