Hi all, back from a good long weekend at Wighill, the weather was not too bad a little rain when we didn't nead it but we managed to enjoy ourselves. When we arrived we had a cuppa and a chin wag as usual then after setting ourselves up I helped Duncan assisted by others to put up our tents for the weekend. We had a game of golf on Friday while the ladies went shopping, then we had alazy evening.Saturday evening we had a cheese and wine party in the tent, then Duncan had an auction to dispose of the spare wine.Sunday morning we had our coffee morning and we paid our site fees,Duncan managed to keep this short so that the golg society could manage another round before it was time to be back in the tent for another social. As usual it was lots of fun with some very difficult quizes and a very funnygame guessing words, well done to Sharron & Steve you nearly won. All in all a very good night Thanks Duncan and gang. Monday the weather was not kind at all and we started taking the t! ent down in the rain but it didn't last too long and it stopped by the time we had finished. We had planned on stopping untill Tuesday but the wind and not pleasant conditions made us decide on going home Monday afternoon, giving me time to get my car ready for the MOT. It passed again so I am quite pleased about that, only trouble is it means I can't swop it again for another year. Sorry no pictures I forgot to take my Camera so I hope Richard has got some to show you. See you all at Hoyland Swain next weekend . Till then take care Barrie & Joan

Here we are again at Wighill for the May day meet. We arrived on Wednesday evening in nice sunny weather. Just time to pitch up and have fish & chips for tea before retiring to our beds ready for the start of the meet in the morning.
Thursday morning and  after a little early rain it brightened up but was a little windy. The first van arrived at about 12.00 then a steady flow with about 10 vans on by tea time. Friday saw another 10 vans giving 20 in total.
We decided to leave Saturday free this year so that people could do there own thing during the day. The golf crew went for a round in York . What a belter. My best round ever. A very nice game in good weather. On Saturday night we held the customary Cheese & Wine party in the tent. I held a little competition to break the night up. How easy is it to count to 10? Well not very easy to stop the clock on 10 seconds. Quit a simple game but not a s easy as it sounds. Well-done to Sharron who got in to the final and stopped the clock smack on 30 seconds. I held a few wine raffles to try and get some money back on what we had spent. I think we might be able to cut back on the cherry wine next year Sandra. I think that we had a good night. I say I think because can’t remember much about it so it must have been good.
Sunday morning came and the weather was nice but quite windy. Coffee morning was held at 11-00 as usual. Quiz answers, Raffle draw and all the usual bits and bobs. Afterwards the lads went for another knock at golf whilst some of the ladies went to the shops for a change. We arrived back on site quite late so it was a quick bite to eat for me then in to the tent to set up for the social.
One of my usual ones. Bingo, Music Quiz and a bit of a laugh. Sorry but it is becoming very hard to think up new things to do. Never mind I think we all had another good evening. Most people went back to there vans at around 10-30 as it was very cold in the tent. The younger end stayed to the bitter end with Charlie and Lindsey leading the dancing as you might see from Richards photos.
Monday morning came and so did the rain. A very wet start. We started to take the tents down and very soon was inundated with help. Thanks to all who lent a hand. All we have to do now is get them dry. The weather picked up a little and we managed to get our awning down dry for a change. We left site at around 3.00pm leaving about 8 vans to enjoy the rest of the meet.
Thanks must go to all who helped a hand to make this another successful meet. I have had a lot of nice comments from our visitors. We do always make them welcome.
 See you all next week.
Duncan
