 Hello Everybody
Sandra and I have just arrived back from our Spring Bank break where we visited our York THS and then moved on to Happisburgh. Both meets were very well attended this year and our thanks must go to all the Stewards who gave up there time to make a few bob for our club.
We both enjoyed our stay at both sites very much. The weather was good for a change as well which was a bonus. My only complaint is that the Golf is far too expensive in Norfolk but we had a good round nevertheless.
Thanks again to all involved on both sites.

Duncan

Hello there, just managed to get time to write a little about our THS at York.As you can see from the pictures we had a good turn out. When we arrived on Thursday afternoon the field looked very wet and we had a visit from the Chairman of the site to see if it was fit for us to use. We convinced him it would be OK and he said we could go ahead but asked if we could keep vehicle movement down so as not to do too much damage to the field. After we got ourselves set up Brian and me set about marking the field out, then putting out some signs on the main road. First problem was that the Elsan tank was nearly full and couldn't be emptied untill Tuesday due to the Bank Holiday. We managed to find an alternative empying point but it was near the club house(quite a walk). On Friday morning our visitors started to arrive and it kept up all day till we had about 70 vans on by evening. My thanks to everyone for pitching as asked making our job a lot easier.
The weather started to improve right from the start of Friday and except for a little blip on Wednesday we had near perfect weather all week.We had a social on Saturday and Sunday evenings in the tent and I think those that came enjoyed themselves. We ran a raffle for the AIR AMBULANCE and drew the numbers out on Sunday evening.Over the 10 days we raised £120.00, thanks again to all who donated prizes and to those who bought tickets. We had BINGO on Tuesday evening and had a bit of fun.We had about 500 camping nights alltogether which just shows how popular the site is and I hope you will all be back next year,I have already ordered the fine weather again.

My thanks to all who helped make it a good meet and to Myra & Brian for making stewarding a very pleasant job.
Hope to see you somewhere out and about , enjoy the rest of the summer.
                                                    Barrie & Joan.
