Hello.

Well another weekend over and looking forward to the next already. Our second visit to Misterton this season with our usual hosts Brenda & Peter. I arrived on Friday tea time as usual to find about 12 vans on site, by the end of the day we had about 15 in total, a good mixture of members and visitors alike. I was on my own on Friday night as Sandra had to work on Saturday morning so would join us later on. (Makes a change for it not to be me doing the Saturday morning shift) Barrie and Joan invited me in to there van for a chin wag which I accepted. (After watching Corrie and Eastenders of course) Cheers for a good natter.

Saturday morning came and the first thing I saw was a very misty field at 6.00am when the dog woke me because he wanted to go out for a pee. After getting back in my pit I finally surfaced at 9.00 ish to find the sun had burned the mist away to leave a glorious morning. The golfers went for a knock as usual. This week we were joined by Albert and our Ben. We thought Barrie was our veteran player but now Albert has played with us it makes Barrie a puppy. Well we all enjoyed our outing again and hope that our newest oldest member of the team will join us again.

After getting back on site we put up the small tent with the windbreak extensions (imagine Greenham common and you will have it) For the Social evening and Early coffee morning that Peter had planed. Cheers to all who helped with my erection. (Think I have used that joke before) After a lovely BBQ there was just time for a quick Shower before gathering in the tent for the evening’s entertainment. I started it off with all the usual announcements and jokes etc. Well done to Josh for pulling our number out in the van prize draw. After my bit it was over to Peter and Brenda for the Social. As usual it was a very entertaining night. We played a drawing game that showed how very un artistic we all are, Followed by a Quiz that showed how very clever Sandra and I are as we won for a change. (I need to blow my own trumpet as nobody else will). Our new resident comedian took to the floor for a couple of jokes. (Will someone tell Roy, that is my job). All in all we had a very good night. Cheers to everybody involved.

Sunday morning came (as it usually does after Saturday night.) and the weather was quite cloudy. AS we had had the coffee morning last night, a couple of us went for another 9 holes whilst some visited the local car boot. When we arrived back on site we watched the Grand Prix (Come on Jenson!!!) before packing up and leaving the rest to enjoy the rest of the 5 night meet.

Our thanks must go to Brenda and Peter for another enjoyable meet.

Next week we are back at Drax with Hazel and Keith.

See you then

Duncan

Hello there,

just back from a weekend at Misterton. We arrived Friday lunchtime and after setting up went for a cuppa and a chin wag with our stewards Brenda & Peter and as usual stayed longer than intended catching up.

Friday evening we asked Duncan round for a drink as he was on his own due to Sandra having to work (AHAH).We put the world to right again.

Saturday morning we waited for Robin & Janet to arrive before we went for a round of golf. We wre also joined by Albert & Ben.It was nice to see Albert out and he still gave me a good game, Thanks Albert.

Saturday evening we gathered in the tent for one of Peter's socials, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. We also had coffee evening and paid our site fees so that people could go to the car boot on Sunday morning.

Sunday morning we wre going to go for a bike ride while 3 of the golfers went for a round, but as the weather was not too hot joan backed out so we just sat and had another natter before it was time to go home. Thanks to Brenda & Peter for stewarding the weekend.

See you all next weekend at DRAX..Joan & Barrie
