Thankyou to everyone who made our weekend fantastic. The "ladies" were brilliant sports and I think we can safely say the Miss BCC competition is now officially resurrected. I'm not sure about the paper boats and impromptu river swimming though although it was a really good laugh. Think we may have to rethink that one for next year Once again a huge thankyou to everyone who attended. Sharron & Steve Sharron Hirst

Hi there, what a great weekend both weather wise and enjoyment. Just like old times when we had so much to do we never went off site. Friday we arrived and were met by Sharron & Steve and we had a cuppa and homemade cakes. We stopped in that evening as we had a little TV watching to do and enjoy the sun. Steve took orders for pies that he was getting for Saturday evening. Saturday was when it all happened. After putting up the tent we had to get ready for the revived MISS BCC. Nice to see so many take part even though they didn’t know about it till they arrived on site Friday. Sharron & Steve decided to have pie & peas first so that Sharron could watch rather than stand over a hot pan doing peas. They went down very well and everyone enjoyed them. Next it was the turn of the men to dress for MISS BCC. What a laugh as usual, a good selection of costumes and make up. Well done lads, I have my doubts who is the daftest us for doing it or the others for watching. The site owner along with Sue was asked to judge the winner ( at this point I don’t think there was a winner or loser they were all brilliant). Sorry to say I turned out the winner with Ian as Runner up. After that we had an evening of laughter over the event. Sunday morning we took down the tent before coffee and had our meeting outside, first for a long time. It was then time for Steve’s second round of fun, the boat race. I think everyone took part in making a paper boat which we took down to the river (DON) and had the race. Things didn’t start well as it was difficult getting boats in the water, but after a bit of a struggle they set off downstream where Steve was waiting to greet the winner. As the river is quite wide he decided to get wet and go for a paddle to retrieve the boats. He was latter helped by Ian going for a swim. I think he enjoyed that as he didn’t look as though he wanted to come out. After all the fun I don’t remember who was declared the winner, they were very soggy and didn’t look much like they went in. Thanks to all who took part and a special THANKS to SHARRON & STEVE for a great weekend. See you all next weekend for more fun at Shellie & Dave’s onesy party. Joan & Barrie. barrie webb
