We were met with a warm welcome from our hosts Mike & Lorraine on a lovely summery evening on Friday. We were given a welcome drink (mine's a large one!) and a picture quiz to have a go at over the weekend. After setting up, getting a quick wash and brush up, we headed over to the Half Moon pub for a really lovely meal. I can highly recommend the sizzling cajun chicken! It was a heady night, but alas the bugs did bite! Saturday morning we all woke up scratching and itching from the mozzies who had chosen to feast on us as we sat around with our welcome drink on the Friday. That's the issue with pitching next to the River Ouse in summer. Saturday was a bit bleak weather-wise, but we set out to Goole on the Ale Trail (check out the app for your mobile via Caskfinder), then back to the caravan in the afternoon. The weather was forgotten as we all gathered in the gazebo on site to disclose our knowledge on the quiz, then were treated to one of Duncan's music quiz's - even though some had done this quiz THREE times, they still didn't win! There's something to be said for a little bit of forgetfulness! We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed our weekend, we look forward to coming back again next year and to sampling some more of the Half Moon's fayre. Thank you Lorraine & Mike for a lovely weekend - see you soon :) Teresa Hooker
